Oil Painting

For all discussion with the medium of oil paint.

I generally only like oil when painting on black velvet. Other that that it takes so long to dry and does not handle mixture effects well.

Black velvet does make oil look very nice but I have to admit that a heavy colored canvas can be very nice.   It also dries much quicker on canvas.   

I disagree, I believe it works well with mixture effects.   It simply depends on what you are expecting it to do.
